PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

  • Ok, the obvious - The Eagles (Well, I'm arunnin' down the road tryin' to loosin' my load, I've got seven women on my mind. Four that want to own me, two that want to stone me, one says she's a friend of mine....). Yeah, we can all relate to that!
  • Steve Miller Band's Fly Like An Eagle
  • Very cool site- Top 100 Philly Albums of All Time
  • American Bandstand- a 'get well soon' shout-out to Dick Clark
  • The very cool "Motownphilly" by Boyz II Men before they became complete wimps.
  • It's Mashed Potato Time by Dee Dee Sharp
  • The Twist by Chubby Checker
  • Soul Survivors On the Expressway to Your Heart - "Been tryin' to get to you for a long time/ Because constantly you been on my mind."
  • It has been noted that just being associated with Elton John's Philadelphia Freedom should disqualify Philly. However, the editor feels that Philly was off the canvas JUST in time to continue the fight.
  • The Eagles took another devastating hit with John Ashcroft's Let the Mighty Eagle Soar, but we've ruled it a blow WAY below the belt. OUCH!
  • A GREAT Philly recovery with Billy Paul's Me-ee ay-and Mrs! Mrs. Jones! Mrs. Jones! (we got a thing....goin' on)

    NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS

  • Can Paul Revere & the Raiders take on The Eagles? (Kicks just keep gettin' harder to find and all your friends ain't bringin' you peace of mind, before you find out it's too late, girl, you better get straight. No, but not with kicks!)
  • Of course! Boston!!!!! Anyone else hate this overplayed, overrated album?
  • The dreaded Bee Gees' I'm Going Back to Massachusetts Just WHAT was this song all about; did the Bee Gees go to summer camp there as kids?
  • Love That Dirty Water by the Standells
  • James Taylor- nice reference in "Sweet Baby James":
Now the first of December was covered with snow
And so was the turnpike from Stockbridge to Boston
Lord, the Berkshires seemed dream-like on account of that frosting
With ten miles behind me and ten thousand more to go

  • Dare we mention Aerosmith? Can we stand another overblown made-for-movie-theme song by them?
  • Boston's resident Irish punks Dropkick Murphys- Loud, intense, really good
  • We can't forget Jonathan Richman & the Modern Lovers. Anyone with a song "I Was Dancin' in the Lesbian Bar" has to be noted.

NOTE: Alternative Conservative competition via Fox News Channel- who is more patriotic, an eagle or a patriot?
